A Brief Return

Hi.  I wanted to post a photo from our recent trip to Holland:

And a picture of Nate all snazzed up to attend a birthday party.  Chris wore this tie as a boy and Nate thinks he's a chick magnet when he wears it.

 

General update:

*Been knitting up a storm.  Really.  I start a sweater class next week at the local shop.  Can't wait! 

*My nephew Ben is living with us until mid-June.  He's our on-call sitter and fun to have around!!

*We got three new light fixtures for our house.  LOVE THEM!  Slowly updating things around here.  Late 80s glam decor is not my favorite.

*Nate is riding a two-wheeler!  And he is going to be on swim team this summer.  And if all goes as planned he will be biking to swim team with the girls.

*Had two ridiculous April snow storms.  Hoping that's the end of it.  But you never know.

*I've been baking all our bread for over two months now - my BIBLE.

*Erin turned three and is all into not napping and tantrums.  Connection there?  Definitely.  It is kinda cool though that my blood pressure doesn't rise as much during the tantrums as it did for C, B and N.  Except for the kicking fit that occurred in the basement last weekend where I had to carry her up two flights of stairs (she was in a monkey costume and kicking me violently).  That got the old heart pumping and was some SERIOUS weight-training.  The cause of this fit?  She wouldn't put a DVD on the shelf:)

 

*Caroline broke her foot scootering.  But it's healed already.  No spring soccer for her though.  Brooke is playing - Chris is coaching.

I'm not sure what's going to happen to this blog tomorrow.  The credit card I used to fund this puppy has expired and I'm not paying to blog anymore.  So I hope they don't delete/erase me.  And no we didn't really go to Holland.  And I'm not pregnant in case that was your next question.  CIAO!

I have a lot of knitting projects going on but I finished one of them yesterday.

On the celebrity front, US Weekly is trying to lure me back by sending me free issues.  I know more about Jessica Simpson's eating habits than I ever wished to know.  And I did see Joaquin on Letterman and really don't know what to say other than maybe LSD?  If they still make that.  Oh and if you like all things "country" and movies about pigs, might I recommend Gordy.  When I selected it for the girls to watch with my remote I had no idea that it was a country western movie on location in Branson, MO AND featured Boxcar Willie.  That movie is more country than HeeHaw (Roy Clark is in it too)!!!  Still recovering from that.

Valentine parties are today at the elementary school - I got the girls some special pants for the day.

 

Erin got a pair too but she's eating her cereal.  Nate got new jeans (didn't want you to think I left him out).  Three cheers for Boden clearance!!

Greetings from the sick ward...

Been battling various illnesses here and doing a lot of EXTRA laundry if you catch my drift.

There has been some Yo Gabba Gabba dance along going down:

 

 

Finally finished a new hat for Chris (my poor BIG baby has been sick too):

 

And my IGF Tracy sent some fabulous crocheted snacks to go with the tea set...

 

 

Which were a huge hit and earned me several minutes of peace.  Thanks T - you frock!!

Free pattern here, which I tweaked a little and I used Manos (116)!  And the fabric flower I bought online from this little shop...super cute stuff!!  Working on converting the koi pond into a sheep pen....I need my own wool source. Ha!

For those of you who don't know...our backyard contains a fully covered, fenced in koi pond, sans the koi.  We need to tear it all out as we do NOT need a wading pool in the backyard.  But it's one of those things we haven't gotten to...it's a total eyesore and will require a city dumpster for all the wreckage. 

 

Yes Virginia, there is a koi pond under there.  Or so we've been told.  How did I get on this topic?

Today was a day where everyone over slept.  It was a scramble.  But that part is over.

Not much...

Nate moved up a level in swimming yesterday - he's actually forming a stroke.  So he got a special ice cream date with his dad last night.

I got caught up in an E! True Hollywood Story of J-Lo yesterday.  It was background noise really.  It's THS now...which I don't like;True Hollywood Story is much more dramatic.  I was reminded of the hysteria that was once called Bennifer.  Ah, those were the days. I wonder what Jennifer Garner thinks of her husband's P-Diddy days?

I started knitting hats yesterday for the girls (on the down low). They've been asking me what I'm knitting and I tell them "I'm not sure."  They have accepted that.  They are pretty easy, for now anyway.

Today I'm trying to find the Valentine goods. The tub is hiding from us somewhere. I'm a little behind on the decorations but have some new crafts up my sleeve to make for this year. As well as some treats.

It's super sunny and supposed to be in the upper 60s today.  Unreal. I need to soak up a little sun.  Ciao!!

Some days....

• When I am followed downstairs at 5:10am by a two year old,
• When my name has been repeated over thirty times before 6:45 am,
• When my child cannot stop singing "Christmas Christmas Time is Here" - Chipmunk version really fast,
• When it's 7:11am but it feels like 5:45pm,

It makes me want to pull a Marie Osmond. But I won't.  But a girl can dream, right?

Poor Michael....

When this story broke Chris and I decided it wasn't him.  But then he admitted it...so now we're just laughing.  And so is the dude at the party who snapped the picture...laughing all the way to the bank!  While Michael will probably lose a few endorsements, maybe he can be the new "face" of Graffix bongs!

I actually watched some of the Super Bowl last night.  Wow.  But I'm glad I got to see the 100 yard touchdown and last touchdown.  Pretty exciting.  But my favorite thing of note was Clarence Clemmons' glittery/sequined robe (no photo available at this time - LAME photographers).  I think he's trying out for the next Matrix movie. 

 So all you Tampa Bay-ers out there...who got the after party at Mons ?  The Steelers or the Cardinals? I did not enter the Mons site...too much clearance for so early in the morning.  I need a cuppa joe in hand before I tackle that one.  So enter at your own risk.

Forgive me, I almost forgot...Happy Groundhog's Day.  I've heard Punxsutawney Phil is a stoner too.

Fast facts...that have nothing to do with anything....

Not much time...here are a few items for you to read and ponder:

• Erin might just have the cleanest teeth in the USA.  She got a new Dora toothbrush and brushes many times a day.  She's into it.
• I was at the knit shop last night.  I am in love with Manos...I could eat it.
• Have a big transcribing deadline this weekend.  Y to the yuck.
• I saw this yesterday and my uterus started doing flips.

So I looked up the pattern:

It's supposed to be 55 today...and yes that's warm for here, you southern folks! Hoping to get out on the bike a few times this weekend.  And we'll be at Beef's for part of the Superbowl (can't fathom sitting through the whole thing)...Avery is running specials with pint glasses there and that we just can't pass up.

My house is getting BLASTED with sun right now - as in I need sunglasses.  It's a good FRIDAY!!
